Monday, June 4th from 10:00 am ? 12:00 noon: The Maplewood/South Orange Professionals in Transition will host: Michelle Tillis Lederman, author, communications and leadership coach, who will give a presentation titled: ?The 11 Laws of Likability,? based on her recently released book of the same title. Michelle will discuss how real relationships lead to real results, and will provide suggestions on how to communicate with confidence, clarity and connection. Monday, June 4th from 10:00 ? 11:30 am: The Parsippany Chamber of Commerce will host Neil Cooper and John Hadley, both career coaches, who will give a presentation titled: ?The Fortune is in the Follow Up!? Learn how to develop your follow-up networking skills in all areas of the job search. Neil & John will discuss How to make your networking follow-up simpler and more creative, How to follow up, and Lead a Q&A Forum for people needing answers to career transition and leadership questions. Tuesday, June 5th from 7:00 ? 9:00 pm: The Westport Public Library will host Stan Witkow, a career consultant, who will give a presentation titled: ?Extreme Job Search Techniques.? Maybe it?s time to try something different in your job search. Stan will discuss unusual, out-of-the-box approaches that jobseekers have used to succeed in landing jobs. Wednesday, June 6th from 7:00 ? 8:30 pm: Maplewood Neighbors helping Neighbors will host: Irina Gomelskaya, a Career Coach, who will give a presentation titled: ?Informational Interviews and Behavioral Interviews: how to prepare, questions to ask, how to tell your story, and follow-up.? Irina will discuss: 1) What is an Informational Interview and how it can be useful, 2) How to set up an informational interview, 3) Questions to ask at an informational interview, 4) Follow-up is key, 5) Behavioral Interviews: what to prepare for, what questions to expect, 6) How to tell your story in a memorable and effective way, 7) Potential questions you may be asked and suggested responses, and 8) Follow-up and thank you notes. Wednesday, June 6th from 7:00 ? 8:30 pm: The Franklin Township Public Library will host Nancy Anderson, a solution-driven training and development leader, who will give a presentation titled: ?Interviewing for Success.? This session focuses on the 3 major types of interviews; the Networking, Telephone and Face-to-Face interviews. After reviewing the flow of an interview session and discussing behavioral questioning, the participants will have an opportunity to practice an interview. The session will allow time for the participants to assess their job skills and develop behavioral examples of these. A portion of the program will deal with the power of networking and developing an ?Elevator Pitch? to use with networking contacts. Valuable resources will be provided.
